For hair salons and barbershops

Hair salon website design for your salon

Someone looking for a new hairdresser types ‘kapper’ (hairdresser) plus the town into Google, then checks your photos, your prices and whether they can book online right away on their phone. That is what I build your website around.

HOW ONLINE BOOKING WORKS

Where new appointments come from

How many new clients your site brings in depends on two things: how many people find your salon online, and how many of them then book an appointment. That second part is called conversion.

You need both. If you rank at the top of Google with a site that loads slowly or where the booking button is hard to find, someone simply clicks through to the salon below you.

Your site also decides which clients come in. If it inspires trust, it attracts clients who come back for their regular cut and color.

More visitors: easier to find for ‘kapper’ (hairdresser) plus your town.
More conversion: your work, your prices and the booking button in view right away.

What your hairdresser site must do

For a hair salon, six things decide whether someone books. They come standard in the site I build for you, and per kind of salon only the emphasis shifts.

A hairdresser cutting hair, the kind of craft that goes big on your hair salon website

Book an appointment online

Booking becomes the easiest button on your site: your client picks a day and time and fills in their name and number. The fewer steps that takes, the fewer people drop off halfway.

Your price list online

When your prices per treatment are on the site, nobody has to call to ask what a haircut or a color costs.

Photos of your work and your salon

Photos of your own cuts, your color work and your salon show a new client what to expect. If you post your work on Instagram, your site gets a button to your profile.

Reviews from your clients

Anyone trying a new hairdresser first looks at what other clients thought of them. That is why your reviews sit on the site next to your prices and the booking button.

Found for hairdresser plus your town

You usually pick a hairdresser close to home. That is why I set up your site and your Google profile for the search ‘kapper’ (hairdresser) plus your town.

WhatsApp button and opening hours

Not everyone books ahead. For the quick question, your site gets a WhatsApp button, and anyone who drops in without an appointment sees your opening hours right away.

Barbershop, salon or mobile hairdresser

Barbershop

The site gets a gallery of fades, beards and line-ups, big on the screen, so someone on their phone sees right away what you can do.

Women's and men's salon

Your price list sits on the site per treatment, with your team in view. Anyone looking for a regular hairdresser sees right away who works in your salon.

Mobile hairdresser

If you drive out to your clients, your service area is on the site, with a call button for anyone who would rather talk it through.

Online booking, connected to what you already use

Someone wants to make an appointment on the couch in the evening, long after your salon has closed. If they can do that online, the appointment lands in your calendar right away. If they have to call the next day, in the middle of your busiest hour, they will probably put it off.

If you already work with a booking system, I build the booking button straight into your site, connected to the system you already run: Salonized, Treatwell, 1Kapper, Salonhub or Salonnare (salon booking systems used in the Netherlands). If you have nothing yet, I can add an appointment module of your own to your site, with no monthly subscription and no commission per booking.

Either way, your client books on your own site.

Example of the booking button on a phone.

Your prices per treatment on the site

Before someone picks a hairdresser, they want to know what it costs. ‘Prijslijst kapper’ (price list hairdresser) and ‘kapper prijzen’ (hairdresser prices) get searched a lot, and that searcher would rather land on a page that simply shows it. If your prices are not there, someone has to call first, and plenty of people will not.

That is why I put your prices per treatment on your site. Anyone who books then already knows what they will pay.

Clients search for hairdresser plus their town

A new client usually starts on Google and types something like ‘kapper in de buurt’ (hairdresser nearby) or ‘kapsalon’ (hair salon) plus the town name. Above the regular results there is then often a small map with three salons, with stars and opening hours. If you are not among them, that searcher can easily overlook you, however sharp your site is.

That is what I focus on: a tidy Google Business Profile connected to your site, opening hours that are the same everywhere, reviews that visibly count and separate pages per town if you serve several neighborhoods. People also ask an AI like ChatGPT which hairdresser nearby is good. That is why I set up your details so that Google and ChatGPT can both read well what you do and where you are.

I build websites from Middelburg, in Zeeland, so if your salon is in Zeeland, I am close by. If you want to know what it takes to get found in your own town, read how local SEO works. You see the same search behavior with websites for restaurants and cafés, where people search for ‘eten in de buurt’ (food nearby).

HOW VIZIBLY SYSTEM WORKS

After delivery, the site is yours

Many hairdresser sites run on a low entry price with a mandatory monthly subscription on the builder’s platform. Handy, until you cancel: then you often lose your whole site, because it was never in your name.

I do it the other way around: I deliver your site one-off as custom work, and after that it is entirely yours, with no license and no mandatory hosting. If you switch to another provider later, I hand everything over complete and tidy. If you would rather hand off maintenance, that is possible from €50 a month, with the first month free.

Measuring and adjusting every month

After launch, a lot changes around your salon. People search a little differently, a new hairdresser opens in your town, or the order in the map at the top of Google shifts.

That is what my own Vizibly System is for. If you choose it, the system measures every month what clients and search engines do on your site and where appointments slip away, and I improve the site based on what comes out. It goes on like that, round after round, and in your dashboard you see what has changed.

Two sites I have delivered

There is no hair salon among them yet, so I show what is there. Both come from another trade, and both are built on the two points that matter for you too: fast on the phone, and one clear button to the next step.

What I take care of for your hair salon website

With many web agencies you write the copy yourself and pay for the design separately. With me, your brand, the design, the copy, the imagery and the technology of your salon site are all in the price as standard. Vizibly is a one-person business, so you deal with one person, even after launch.

  • Your brand

I start with who your clients are and why they choose you. From that follow your tone, your colors and your typefaces.

  • Tech and ownership

Your domain is in your name and you can always take the code with you. Once the build is paid, the site is yours.

  • Design

You get your own clean design that fits your brand, built to the accessibility guidelines.

  • Copy

You supply the facts, I write pages that match what your clients search for in Google.

  • Imagery

Photos of your work you supply yourself. If you do not have them yet, I start with professional AI imagery at no extra cost.

  • Findability

I build your site so that Google and AI tools can read it well. If you already have a site, I redirect your old addresses.

Also included

  • A contact form with a spam filter that works. At delivery I test it with a real submission, and you get that proof from me.
  • I set up Google Analytics and Search Console on accounts in your name, so you can see how people find your site and you always keep that measurement history.

After launch

You can leave hosting and maintenance to me for €50 a month, and that comes with your own dashboard. If your site goes down, I get an alert automatically. If anything does not work as agreed in the first thirty days, I fix it at no cost.

Optional extras

If you do not have a logo yet, I design that too. A second language or a system where you publish yourself can be added as well, and you hear the price up front.

How I build your salon site, in eight steps

At three moments I show you where your site stands and ask for your sign-off, the first time before I build anything. Each moment comes with one round of adjustments. If you supply your photos and your price list quickly, your site is live on average 2 to 3 weeks after the kickoff call.

What a hair salon website costs

A website for your hair salon starts at €2,000, one-off. Where you end up exactly depends on three things: how many pages the site gets, whether you supply the copy or I write it, and whether extra functionality gets added, such as an appointment module of your own or a connection to your booking system.

Before I start designing, I pin down with you who your salon is for and what impression it should make. A minimalist barbershop draws a different crowd than a color salon where people take their time. That first step is simply in the price. You can read how it works under branding.

Frequently asked questions

A website for your hair salon starts at €2,000, one-off. That includes the design for your salon, your price list, a photo gallery and a booking button. What it ends up being depends on the number of pages, who supplies the copy and photos, and whether extra functionality gets added, such as an appointment module of your own. If you then want to be easier to find on an ongoing basis, my Vizibly System starts at €800 a month, and you can cancel month to month. See the pricing.

The number of pages and what the site has to do. A compact salon site with your price list, a few photos, your opening hours and a booking button sits close to the starting price of €2,000. If you have several locations, want a page of its own per treatment such as balayage or hair extensions, or separate pages for the towns around you, the price goes up. An appointment module of your own inside the site also takes more than a connection to the system you already run. What you usually give up at a very low price is covered in my piece on a cheap website.

Your price list and your photos are what change most often, so I keep those easy to adjust. You send me the new prices or photos and they are up quickly. You are better off not tinkering with the SEO copy yourself, because one wrong sentence can cost you findability; I adjust that for you.

You get further with it than a few years ago. An AI builder quickly puts up a neat page with your opening hours and a contact form, and for a first spot online that can work fine. What such a tool does not do is decide how your salon comes across and which client you are aiming for. And the things that bring in appointments for a hair salon do not appear by themselves: booking connected to the system your calendar already lives in, and copy and settings set up for the searches from your own town. If you want to try it yourself first, my article on building a website yourself with AI explains what those tools do and do not solve for you.

I deliver the technical basics in order: fast loading, a clean structure, meta tags and a sitemap, plus a connected Google Business Profile and pages per town so it is clear where you are and who you serve. Findability stays ongoing work after that, in Google and in AI tools like ChatGPT. If you want to hand that off, my Vizibly System measures every month how your salon is found, and I improve the site based on what comes out.
