WEBSITE + CMS + BILINGUAL

Dutch Survey

I built a bilingual website for this specialist in surveying and 3D laser scanning. Dutch Survey works for big names in industry and infrastructure, and the site had to look as precise and reliable as the work itself. With the site's own CMS, the system for managing its content, owner Michael van Drie adds projects and job openings himself. The English version is there for clients outside the Netherlands.

THE BRIEF

What Dutch Survey does and what the site had to do

Dutch Survey is Michael van Drie's company: surveying, 3D laser scanning and monitoring for industry, civil engineering and infrastructure. Its clients are large contractors and companies in the petrochemical and offshore industries. The work is all about precision down to the millimeter.

The website had to show that level of precision right away, with an industrial look that suits a company that competes with the serious players in the market. And it had to be bilingual, because Dutch Survey also wants to win work outside the Netherlands. When you're getting a B2B website built, you make different choices than for a consumer site: the person visiting is often a buyer who decides based on proof.

A buyer like that needs to see enough on the site to trust the company and request a quote. That's why the site got a portfolio, a blog and an extensive FAQ, plus a CMS that lets Michael add projects, job openings and articles himself.

THE APPROACH

How the site is put together

An industrial design with images of the work itself

The design is black and white, with red as the accent color. The images show the laser scanners themselves and projects on location, so a visitor sees right away what kind of work Dutch Survey does.

Bilingual for international clients

Dutch is the base, and the English version has its own URL path. Hreflang tags tell Google which version belongs to which language. Every service and industry page exists in both languages, so a client from abroad finds the right page just as easily as a Dutch one.

Payload CMS, managed in-house

Michael adds new projects, job openings and blog posts himself, in both languages. That way the portfolio grows along with the work he delivers.

Technically sound at launch

The site scores 90+ on PageSpeed and has clean URLs, a logical sitemap and structured data: code that explains to Google what's on a page. The forms have spam filters. Everything is set up so Google can read the site well and find the right page for every service.

WHY THIS WORKS

What the site does for Dutch Survey

Easy to find in two languages

Every service has its own page, in Dutch and in English. When a client in the Netherlands or abroad searches for one of those services, they can land straight on the page about that work.

Built for inquiries

Every page leads to the quote request. Client names, years of experience and hard figures sit right where a buyer would otherwise start to hesitate.

Fits the work

Dutch Survey works for large contractors and for the petrochemical and offshore industries. A buyer from that world can tell from the site that they're dealing with a company in their own league, and that helps once the conversation turns to price.

Live as soon as Michael adds it

A new project or job opening goes online as soon as Michael adds it. He doesn't have to bring anyone in for that, so a change doesn't come with an invoice either.
