Find and compare driving schools

Each of 1,115 towns has its own overview of the driving schools nearby. For 6,809 schools, it shows the pass rate from the CBR (the Dutch driving test authority), along with the number of exams it is based on. You also see the Google reviews, and you can filter by automatic transmission, motorcycle lessons or help with test anxiety.

THE IDEA

Why Rijloket exists

A driver's license easily costs a few thousand euros and months of lessons. Still, many people choose their driving school based on a tip from someone in the neighborhood or the first hit in Google, and there's little to be found about what driving lessons should actually cost.

Rijloket.nl brings together the numbers that do exist. The CBR publishes exam results per driving school as open data, Google has the reviews, and the lesson prices come from Rijloket's own price research. For each town, all of that sits side by side. The ranking is based on the numbers, and a driving school can't pay its way to the top.

Those numbers vary widely. In Amsterdam, 4.8 percent of students pass at one school and 90 percent at another (CBR figures, schools with at least ten exams). On Rijloket, you see that before you book your first lesson.

THE APPROACH AT A GLANCE

How I build and maintain Rijloket

Rijloket runs entirely on my own Vizibly System, with the same monthly mix of building, measuring and improving that I use on client sites. The numbers from the CBR, Google and the price research flow into it, and fresh ones come in every quarter.

That also makes Rijloket my own testing ground: what works on this platform, I take to my clients.

Rijloket is also hidden in my 3D website The Future in the Past, by the way: in the room called The Driver of Tomorrow, a long hall with twelve test seats, the door at the back leads to Rijloket.
