Website design for your construction company

Someone looking for a contractor googles their job and their town. Construction website design has to get you found there first, and then convince with what you've built: project photos, your approach and the timeline alongside. I build it so clients find you in your service area and request a quote in one click.

First, take a look at two sites I built earlier.

Where the jobs from your site come from

How many jobs your site brings in depends on two things, and you can work on both.

Visitors

People who google your trade plus their town, or ask ChatGPT. The better your site gets found, the more of them end up on it.

×

Conversion

The share of those visitors who request a quote, and that's called conversion. Project pages with a story, a quote button that stands out and a fast site get more people to take that step.

=

Jobs

Work on both and they reinforce each other: every extra visitor then lands on a site that leads to a quote more often.

There's one more thing at play: who sends the inquiry. If your site looks sharp and shows your work, you get the client who comes for quality more often, and the one who only wants the lowest price less often.

What a website for your construction company has to do

Someone shopping around for a contractor has to get from your site to the quote button. These six parts get them there, and anything that doesn't contribute to that doesn't belong on it, as far as I'm concerned. That goes for a contractor with a permanent crew just as much as for the carpenter or painter who takes jobs under their own name.

Found in your service area

Separate pages for each service and each town where you work, built so Google reads them well. When someone types their job plus their town, there's a page ready that's about exactly that.

A project portfolio with your own photos

Your finished jobs by type: addition, dormer, renovation, bathroom. A client checks your work first, and only then you.

Quote button always in view

The quote button is on screen on every page, with no scrolling needed. If someone has just looked at a project page and wants to know what their own job costs, the button is already there.

Call with one tap

Many clients would rather just call. On mobile, someone taps your number and has you on the line, with no retyping.

Reviews from earlier clients

Each review comes with the town and the type of job. Someone who wants a dormer reads what an earlier client says about exactly that job.

Fast on mobile, even with poor reception

Your site loads right away, even on 4G with one bar. The project photos, the heaviest part of a construction website, show up immediately.

What changes on your site per type of business

Construction company or contractor

Your jobs are big and run long. Your site then centers on project pages by type: addition, renovation, new construction, with the approach and the schedule included.

HVAC and installation company

Heating, heat pump, electrical or plumbing: lots of separate services side by side. Your number is at the top of every page, every installation gets its own service page and your service area is clearly shown.

Finish contractor

Plastering, flooring, tiling and carpentry sell on detail. A gallery per technique, with close-ups, then counts for more than a long block of text.

Vizibly is based in the Netherlands and works throughout the country.

Take a look at two sites I built

A roofer in Haarlem shows what a site can deliver after that. He was on page 2 for his most important search term and paid well over €600 a month for ads. Two years later he ranked #1 for "dakdekker Haarlem" (roofer Haarlem), with dozens of inquiries a month from the unpaid search results in Google. How that project went is in the case study of this roofer in Haarlem.

A project page with and without the story behind it

A photo of your work tells a client little as long as they don't know what was behind it. Take a two-story addition and show it twice.

Just a photo

Project photo of a home addition with no story behind it

Addition, two stories

There's a nice photo with a caption, and nothing else. What the job involved, what you built with and how long it took isn't there. The visitor looks for a moment and clicks on to the next contractor.

With approach, materials and timeline

The same home addition, now with approach, materials and timeline added

Approach: Demolition of the old addition, new foundation, a steel support structure and a flat roof with a skylight.

Materials: Sand-lime blocks, steel lintels, an EPDM roof and triple glazing in the window frames.

Timeline: Seven weeks, and the residents could stay in the house the whole time.

Now the client sees how you work and that you deliver on time. That’s what gives them the confidence to request a quote.

That's how I put every job on your site. You supply the photos, and the story behind them you write yourself or leave to me.

Keep building on your site every month, with Vizibly System

After launch you can leave your site as it is, or keep going. If you choose to keep going, I put Vizibly System on it: it measures what visitors and Google do on your site, and I find out where clients drop off, for example on a project page where nobody clicks through to the quote. I adjust a page like that right away, and in your dashboard you see what I changed and what it did.

Let the visitor work out a price estimate themselves

With a quote-estimate calculator on your site, the visitor picks their job, a dormer, an addition or a bathroom, and fills in the dimensions and the finish. They see a price estimate right away, so whoever requests a quote afterward already knows roughly where they'll end up.

A tool like that costs between €500 and €3,000. You hear the amount for your calculator up front, as a fixed price.

  • You get the inquiry with their wishes included

This is what I take care of for your construction company's website

With many web agencies you write the copy yourself and pay for the design separately. For your construction website, your brand, the design, the copy about your jobs, the imagery and the technology are all in the price. Vizibly is me, so you deal with one person, even after launch.

  • Your brand

I start with who your clients are and why they choose you. From that follow your tone, your colors and your typefaces.

  • Tech and ownership

Your domain is in your name and you can always take the code with you. Once the build is paid, the site is yours.

  • Design

You get your own clean design that fits your brand, built to the accessibility guidelines.

  • Copy

You supply the facts, I write pages that match what your clients search for in Google.

  • Imagery

Photos of your work you supply yourself. If you do not have them yet, I start with professional AI imagery at no extra cost.

  • Findability

I build your site so that Google and AI tools can read it well. If you already have a site, I redirect your old addresses.

Also included

  • A contact form with a spam filter that works. At delivery I test it with a real submission, and you get that proof from me.
  • I set up Google Analytics and Search Console on accounts in your name, so you can see how people find your site and you always keep that measurement history.

After launch

You can leave hosting and maintenance to me for €50 a month, and that comes with your own dashboard. If your site goes down, I get an alert automatically. If anything does not work as agreed in the first thirty days, I fix it at no cost.

Optional extras

If you do not have a logo yet, I design that too. A second language or a system where you publish yourself can be added as well, and you hear the price up front.

How your site gets built, in eight steps

At three moments I show you where your site stands and ask for your sign-off, the first time before I build anything. Each moment comes with one round to adjust. So you always know which step is under way, and on average your site is live 2 to 3 weeks after the kickoff call.

What a construction website costs

A construction website starts at €2,000. What it comes to above that depends on the scope: how many services and project pages you show, whether you supply the copy or I write it, and whether a connection with your existing software or a multilingual version is part of it. You hear the amount up front, with no surprise charges afterward.

The branding is included in that price: first pin down how you want to come across and to whom, and only then design. A homeowner who wants a dormer looks at your site differently than a client who outsources a whole project.

Frequently asked questions

Your site is delivered SEO-ready on the technical side: fast, with a clean structure, the right titles and a page for each town where you work. That is the technical foundation. How high you rank also depends on the other construction companies in your region. If you want to work on that systematically, local SEO is the next step. For construction in particular you can choose an SEO program for construction companies.

A construction website starts at €2,000. That includes the branding, the design, your project portfolio, the quote button and the phone number on every page, and a technically fast site that Google can read well. You hear the amount up front, with no surprise charges afterward. What a site and the monthly maintenance cost is on the pricing page.

If you want to, yes. A management environment, a CMS, can be added, where you add a job yourself: photos, a short description, done. You don't need any technical knowledge for it. If you'd rather hand it off, I take care of the updates for you.

If you supply it, I use that. If you don't have time, I write it, aimed at what a client wants to know: your experience, your approach and your service area. It becomes SEO copy, using the words clients type into Google themselves.

A site for plumbers and HVAC contractors, too
